Nutrient Density We all know that all foods contain calories, but did you know that not all foods are nutrient-dense? Well now you do :) But what are nutrient dense foods? And what are the benefits of choosing them in your diet? Example of nutrient dense foods are, whole grains, fish and seafood, unprocessed lean meat and skinless poultry, Nuts and legumes, veggies, and fruits. Just because a food is high in calories doesn’t mean that it’s bad for you. That also goes for, just because a food is low in calories doesn’t make it a healthy choice. As a general rule, try to mostly eat foods that are high in nutrients like protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. These foods include veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, fatty fish, and eggs. 2. Diet Diversity Another component of healthy eating is diet diversity, which means, eating a variety of foods. Following a diet that’s rich in different kinds of food supports your gut health, promotes a healthy body weight, and protects against chronic diseases. Although you may not enjoy trying new foods, research shows that the more you’re exposed to a food, the greater your chances of growing accustomed to it. So, with that being said, try to introduce new foods one at a time. If you don’t eat many vegetables, start by adding a favorite veggie to one or two meals per day and build from there. 3. Calorie Deficit Heard of this word before? Well let me tell you what means. A calorie deficit is when you eat fewer calories than you use in a day. To lose weight, you need to bring in fewer calories than you burn. With that being said, you don't have to restrict yourselves from eating what you love. What is active kickboxing? Well Active kickboxing is a non-combative sport, that allows you to learn Kickboxing, and is designed to help you lose weight, improve your cardiovascular fitness, tone your muscles and build strength. Now, let me tell you the reasons why you should try out Active Kickboxing :) 1. Improves Stamina When training for active kickboxing, you will be given a few sets of combos that you are required to do for multiple sets, to help you familiarize with the combos. Therefore, this will help in increasing your stamina, as you train for long periods of time consistently. 2. Improve Endurance Active kickboxing will help in improving your endurance, as you need to keep a strong mindset, to complete the sets that you are tasked to do. Therefore, this will increase your endurance, as kickboxing itself is an endurance training. 3. Increase Strength Kickboxing is a full body workout that engages all the major muscle groups. Hybrid X is a combination of both Active Kickboxing Fitness and Active Circuit Training System into one class, allowing those who doesn’t have time to go for many different classes, to do both in just a class. It is executed in a “boot camp” style. Where you get to do station work at the kickboxing area, and the gym. Let's do a little run though on how this class goes :) Part I: Gym Time! Firstly, we hit the gym! New to the gym, or afraid to visit one? Well, there's nothing to be afraid of here, because we will guide you through every step of the way. We will teach you on how to use the different gym equipments, and you will then be tasked to do the different stations one after another, helping you to familiarize yourselves to these new excercises :) Part II: Let's Hit The Bags! Remember when we said hybrid? Well this is the kickboxing part now. Not to worry, you will be taught on how to throw proper punches and kicks. So if you're ready to learn cool new skills, then put on your gloves and let's hit the bags together! Part III: Bodyweight Exercises Time! We're almost done! Last but not least, we will finish our class off with some body weight excercises.
