Have a ball of energy at home?

Let them join our Little Lions Kickboxing Classes ( ages 3 - 6 ) !

Our Little Lions Classes are structured to be safe and engaging, all while developing cognitive and motor skills, confidence and above all, values such as discipline and respect!

Whether your child is trying out martial arts for the first time, or perhaps they're just bouncing with energy at home.

Kickboxing is an excellent way to channel that enthusiasm into confidence and fun!

Class Structure!

1. Warm-Ups:
Every class starts with a fun, dynamic warm-up that varies from week to week, to keep the children engaged with fresh new exercises!

Think a short competitive race amongst one another to get the blood pumping, or a game of tag.

This segment is to get the body warm and moving. To increase heart rate and loosen muscles while keeping things light and playful!

2. Techniques and Drills:
Once everyone is warm, its time to learn and review the core techniques. This is the part of the class where we focus on kickboxing techniques such as jabs, crosses, front kicks, evasive movements and other techniques.

Techniques are taught step-by-step, and we ensure that children are taught the proper movement to prevent any risk of injury.

3. Obstacles:
With equipment like hurdles and rings, we design engaging obstacle courses that challenge kids to jump, crawl, and weave their way through.

These courses aren’t just loads of fun—they also help children develop key physical skills such as agility, coordination, and spatial awareness in an active, playful way.

4. Game Time:
This is always a class favorite! At the end of each session, our Little Lions get to enjoy a fun-filled game led by our instructors.

It’s a chance for them to unwind, laugh, and simply have fun with their peers while letting their playful energy shine.

Our Active Kickboxing Instructing in the midst of conducting the class.
When people think about Kickboxing, they often picture intense bouts in the ring with violent punches and kicks.

In reality, Active Kickboxing is safe. Especially in our classes where our instructors go through numerous safety procedures and elements.

Active Kickboxing is a highly beneficial workout for people of all ages, and fitness levels.

And here's why!

1. No Contact!

One of the biggest reasons why Active Kickboxing isn't dangerous is because it doesn't involve any sparring or contact with other participants.

In our typical Active Kickboxing Classes, our clients punch it out on equipment that we provide in the studio during partner drills, such as the roundshields or bags.

This eliminates the risk of sparring injuries, with no contact involved, you can reap the benefits of kickboxing.

Improving your overall fitness, strength and coordination without the risk of injuries that come with contact-based fighting!

2. Emphasis on Safety and Form!

In our Active Kickboxing Classes, we place heavy emphasis on learning the proper form and technique to prevent injuries.

Good form not only works to contribute to a workout's effectiveness, but it also protects you from unnecessary strains.

Our instructors are trained to guide participants in the movements. Ensuring that they don't overexert themselves when performing the techniques!

3. Proper Equipment!

At Active Zone, we provide the necessary equipment, such as punching bags, gloves, pads and more. These tools are designed to absorb impact and reduce the risk of injury during the workouts.

Additionally, our studio includes padded floors to provide further protection and cushioning to our clients!

In Conclusion:
Kickboxing is a safe and effective workout when done correctly, Active Kickboxing is far from dangerous. It's an effective workout that helps you get active and fit.

Active Kickboxing works cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility, and releases tension and stress, all whilst keeping the risk of injuries low.

So if you're considering trying out Active Kickboxing, don't let this misconception about danger hold you back!

Active Kickboxing Vs. Traditional Cardio

4/2/2025

Picture
When it comes to keeping fit, there are numerous workouts to choose from.

The more popular choices, perhaps, would be traditional cardio exercises, such as running or swimming.

However, Active Kickboxing might just be better suited for you.

Let's break it down.

Why Active Kickboxing?
Active Kickboxing combines martial arts techniques with high-energy cardio exercises.

Involving punches and kicks, but unlike traditional kickboxing, which focuses on combat. Active Kickboxing is made to improve one's fitness and endurance.

1. Full-body Workout: Active Kickboxing engages the core, legs, arms and back. Offering a balanced exercise routine.

2. Stress Relieving: Punching and kicking provide excellent outlets for releasing tension after a long day at work. A wonderful way to ease the mind as you work your body!

3. Fun & Engaging: Unlike Traditional Cardio, such as running, the dynamic and high-energy nature of Active Kickboxing keeps workouts exciting, varied and fun!

Ultimately, Which to Choose?

Well, it depends on your fitness goals and overall preference.

If you enjoy the high-octane workouts that Active Kickboxing provide then its a fantastic choice for you.

Conclusion:
Both Active Kickboxing and Traditional Cardio offer unique benefits. If you value accessibility, versatility, and the ability to track progress easily, Traditional Cardio is the better choice for you.

However if you love an exciting full-body workout that keeps you engaged and motivated, give Active kickboxing a try.

The only way to know if you'll love it is to give it a shot! So why not join our Active Kickboxing Classes today!

Currently we have a special promotion on-going for our Active Kickboxing Introductory Classes, available now till the end of April.

Active Zone: How We Structure Classes

4/1/2025

Picture
At Active Zone, every session is designed to give you a well-rounded workout!

Whether you're a beginner or a fitness enthusiast, our class structure and routines ensure that you receive a full-body workout.

Our approach to fitness is beyond just breaking a sweat. Combining body-weight movements and kickboxing elements, we deliver a workout that energises you.

Let me give you a breakdown of how our classes are structured, from the warm-ups to the dynamic drills that we include!

1. Getting the Body Ready: We begin the class with a quick warm-up, which includes dynamic stretching and movements to loosen your stiff body after a long day.

We then move on to warm-up drills, where Clients perform Kickboxing techniques to increase heart rate!

2. Up'ing the Intensity with Tabata: The next portion of the class is Tabata, a high-intensity interval training that aids in burning fat and boosting metabolism.

This section is designed to push you to your limits, with short bursts of exercises with brief rest periods. Usually, rounds consist of 30 seconds of all-out effort, followed by 15 seconds of rest.

Tabata is a powerful way to ramp up the calorie burn while working on stamina and strength, toning your body as you go!
Picture
3. Combination Drills: After Tabata, we transition into combination drills. This is where the Kickboxing portion comes in. In this segment, clients will work on various sequences of punches and kicks.

These combinations are designed to challenge coordination and improve technique, all while burning calories, in a fun and dynamic way.

4. Speed & Power: In this segment, we build strength and speed with time-based exercises. As if Tabata and Kickboxing combined, we challenge our clients with continuous, speedy punches and kicks.

Conclusion
To wrap it up, at Active Zone, our structure ensures that every session is engaging and effective. By blending warm-ups, Tabata, kickboxing techniques and drills, we create a full-body workout that keeps you motivated.
